Udayagiri Caves (Madhya Pradesh)
  • Description: A group of 20 rock-cut caves from the Gupta period (3rd-5th Century CE). 
  • Significance: Important archaeological site, used by Emperor Chandragupta II for secret meetings and negotiations. 
  • Location: Near Vidisha, about 60 km from Bhopal. 
Udayagiri (Odisha)
  • Description: 
    The largest Buddhist site in Odisha, featuring major stupas and monasteries. 
  • Significance: 
    Part of the "Diamond Triangle" (with Ratnagiri and Lalitgiri), an important Buddhist heritage center active from the 7th-12th centuries. 
  • Related Sites: 
    Often confused with the nearby Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves in Bhubaneswar, which are Jain caves. 
Udayagiri Fort (Andhra Pradesh)
  • Description: A historic fort built in the 14th century, perched on a hill.
  • Significance: A formidable stronghold for Gajapati and Vijayanagara rulers, now a bio-diverse park. 
Udayagiri Fort (Tamil Nadu)
  • Description: Another significant fort, unique for its construction by a Dutch naval commander for Kerala's kings.
