Father was nominated as Member by Scope during tsunami operation in Tamil Nadu to represent various Public Sector undertakings and Gujarat relief fund :  While unable to recall entire contribution, few steps initiated worth to emulate:   

1.   Donated various gifts received by him to the District Collector of Cuddalore

2.   Took Lorries throughout the Neyveli Township along with Trade union Leaders and collected cloths, vessels, other materials worth for distribution and ensured despatch to concerned authorities.

3.   Trade Unions and Associations of Executives supported readily for donation of one day Salary amounting to more than a Crore .  

4.   Sale proceeds received out of the books written by him one with best Writer Award from Government of Tamil Nadu was utilised for the cause of Tsunami affected persons.

6.   Canteen established for NLC employees were made full use for preparation of meals and distribution of   thousands of affected people through Helicopter. 

7.   Large number of buildings of NLC were utilised for temporary shelter of affected persons with meeting minimum requirement for stay.
